My dear Kacvey,

Hope you had a great time closing out 2014, and a better spirit opening up 2015!

You may well ask how to do that in the next 12 months? The answer to that is easy and simple if the wishes of a “happy, healthy and prosperous New Year” which are almost in every message that was sent from one person to another are well-meant and understood by the sender and the recipient, and not just a meaningless yearly routine rituals.

A better spirit is the frequent and periodical re-affirmation of moral and intellectual prosperity in the conduct of our undertaking which would produce constructive and useful ideas for public interests that could not be found anywhere in the lands of the Khmer. Sticking to the old-fashioned perception is walking backward towards the future that will without a doubt be more challenging and possibly scary.

You certainly have heard or read about the latest commotion in the City of Tonlé Buon Mouk regarding the so-called resurrection or re-make of a party-with-no-seat-in-the-NA with the blessing of the ruling nabob! Well, Kacvey, once a porcelain vessel is broken, even with Super-Glue applied by expert craftsman, it will never be the same again and its value is reduced to naught; and only fools will not recognize it.

But the most interesting part of this commotion is how the “culture of dialogue” has been genuinely used by the ruling nabob to cut the grass under the feet of the promoter of the said “culture of dialogue” who, once again, falls into the politics booby trap artistically set up by astute chess player.

Kacvey, it’s time to have a walk and have fresh air in the public garden of Freedom Park!
